After disabling Web Sharing, it's a green light. Hurdle #2 - (previously) trying to open install.php would get a lot of garbled code / errors and be unable to do... well, anything. YAY! It's there! And looking lovely! Well, as lovely as the default look can be. Now I can fiddle my way to freedom!
