Website Launch: ShaunGroves.com/radio

03/26/2010

Shaun Groves is an independent Christian musician. Independent Christian musicians don’t get radio play because they don’t have the marketing support of a label to push them into the radio market. Shaun is challenging that industry norm and has hired a radio promoter to try to get some radio play for his new songs (which are available for free, by the way). This radio promoter needed a page for each song so he could send that URL to each station and that station could listen to the song, download the song, and also grab info about Shaun. Here are those pages for your consumption.

Website Launch: ShaunGroves.com

09/11/2009

We just launched the brand new blog/website of Shaun Groves. The site was designed by Brad Ruggles with some awesome additional artwork by Barton Damer. I handled all-things-WordPress and all of the fun details involved in getting his old content moved over to the new platform.

So, go check it out right now at http://ShaunGroves.com. I’m sure you will love it but I would still love to hear your feedback.

Perspective

05/1/2009

Shaun and a bunch of bloggers are on a trip to Kolkata, India, right now seeing the work Compassion International is doing to fight poverty and provide hope to children and families. Becky, Shaun’s wife, is on this trip with him even though she isn’t a blogger herself. This is her first trip overseas to see the work of Compassion so I have been very curious to see her reaction and hear her thoughts.

Today Shaun posted the e-mails that Becky has been writing their kids here in America while they’ve been in India. You must go read this post. Here’s an excerpt from Day 5:

The house we visited today was one of a little Compassion girl who is 11.  Remember that it is only the size of your bathroom (without the bathtub, toilet, and sink) and her whole family of 5 people sleeps in there with no bed.  The floor is clay and there is one window.  It is painted a pretty blue color.  She asked us how we liked her house.  We told her that it was beautiful, and she started smiling.  She said “My life is very happy,” and began to sing a song to God.  You would think that she would be sad that she didn’t have more, but because she has God and knows her sponsor from Compassion loves her enough to send letters and money to take care of her, she is happy.

My wife and I are in the process of buying a house — our first house. It’s probably going to be a little bigger than a bathroom, but it might not be as big as the neighbor’s house. I only hope that we can remember to be happy because we have God who loves us and because we love each other, and not be sad because we don’t have more stuff.

Go read Letters from Mommy.

shaun2009summer

Over the last eight months audiences at Shaun‘s concerts have sponsored over 1000 children through Compassion International. With such an overwhelming response to Shaun’s music and speaking about the mission of Compassion International we are excited to be able to continue traveling to churches and colleges for free.

And now it is your chance to get involved. We are currently booking free concerts for Summer 2009 (May-August).

These are solo acoustic events with Shaun and Compassion. This tour is ideal for Sunday morning worship services, evening concerts, college chapels and meetings, or anywhere the Church can be reminded that God has called each of us for a purpose.

If you are interested in participating in one of these free events please call or e-mail Ben Stewart today at booking@shaungroves.com!

If you are unable to promote one of these events then please forward spread the word to anyone you know who might want to get involved in this tour. We can all play a part in releasing children from poverty.

Thank you!
